We are a licensed child care centre that provides High Quality services, under the Child Care and Early Years Act, 2014 (CCEYA), the Ministry of Education of Ontario.
Core Value
Early childhood development is critically important. At Earth Kidz, our experienced RECEs and staff help facilitate this period of learning, and that’s what separates us from traditional child care facilities. Every Earth Kidz child is unique and we respect the way each learns, plays, and interacts with others.
We believe Earth Kidz is operated under the foundational belief that “Respect”:
- Defined as “the need to treat others the way we would want to be treated”
- Is particularly essential in a childcare setting where there is frequent daily interactions between children, children and staff, educators, and staff and parents.
- Is a pre-cursor to “Quality Daycare Service"
Underpinning this core value is the following：
• Our programs are inspired with Montessori and Reggio Emilia approaches, and are consistent with Ministry of Education policies, pedagogy and curriculum requirements.
• Our curriculum implements best practices based on current and emerging trends, and never stops improving.
• All of our staff have a valid First Aid & CPR certificate and up-to-date Police Vulnerable Sector Check.
• All of our staff are experienced educators with diplomas or degrees in Early Childhood Education, and are registered with the College of Early Childhood Educators or in progress.
• All staff are fluid in English, and most can speak a second language.
• EKELC has its own chefs and kitchens approved by Ottawa Public Health. All staff in charge of food preparation hold a Food Handler Certificate.
• Our lunch and snacks are created in accordance Canada’s Food Guide, Ottawa Public Health requirements, and Ontario Nutrition Recommendations.
It is generally accepted that the early years of childhood are the most formative and, as such, we should make every effort to fill them with unique and interesting learning-related activities that help our children to become the well-rounded individuals we all wish them to be. By encouraging the natural curiosity and creativity of children we enrich their daily routines and, in so doing, contribute to their overall happiness, personal development and ultimately to their success in life. In relation to this, Earth Kidz Early Learning Centre is committed to providing intellectually stimulating programming that children need and deserve. More specifically, our focus is on promoting childhood experiences that enhance educational and emotional well-being while ensuring a learning environment that is safe, healthy and nurturing.

Health & Safety
Your child’s health and safety are our top priority. Our centers have strict guidelines for cleanliness and security, as well as enhanced protocols regarding to COVID-19.
To ensure your child’s health and safety, at Earth Kidz, our standards meet or exceed all guidelines from the Ministry of Education and Ottawa Public Health.
Moreover, our centre has:
- Well planned layouts with minimized obstacles and structured play areas
- Thoughtfully designed open spaces that keep children constantly within sight
- Video intercom with facial recognition and security surveillance to ensure children and staff’s safety throughout the day
